(1) The Pattawala shall submit the annual fee as per Schedule-20 to the District Forest Office by the end of each financial year.
(2) The lessor who fails to pay the dues within the period as per sub-rule (1) shall be fined ten percent for the month of Poush, fifty percent for the month of Chait and one hundred percent for the month of the next month.
(3) According to sub-rule (2), the lease of the lessee who does not pay the dues within the time limit shall be cancelled. However, if the leaseholder submits an open application to the Government of Nepal for the reason that the leaseholder is unable to pay, and if the Government of Nepal deems it reasonable, the lease may be maintained for one year by adding a penalty of 100% to the total dues with fines as per sub-rule (2).
